marlow magdalene (b. 1994 Los Angeles) is an experimental visual artist working in moving image, performance, and sculpture.
Through time-based media, he materializes theory by Black radical thinkers into montage films that explore the transgressive space of collective memory, Black social death, and trans abjection. His cinematic universe comprises muddy textures, harsh cuts, and distorted sounds into montage films that collapse time and critique American history.
He’s currently pursuing his MFA at Bard College Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts.
