marlow magdalene

marlow magdalene (b. 1994, Los Angeles) is an experimental visual artist working in moving image, performance, and sculpture.

Through time-based media, he materializes the theories of Black radical thinkers into montage films that explore the transgressive space of collective memory, Black social death, and trans abjection. His cinematic universe comprises muddy textures, harsh cuts, and distorted sounds, resulting in montage films that collapse time and critique American history.

He’s currently pursuing his MFA in moving image at Bard College Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts.
